Patrick Puckett: Large Vision Models: The Lions of Enchantment
July 12-August 3, 2025

On Saturday, July 12th, Wally Workman Gallery will open their 12th solo show with figurative painter Patrick Puckett. Known for his assertive brush strokes and bold colors, Puckett creates commanding work. His figures may be physically at rest, but their environment is quite alive. The vibrance of their setting, and their direct eye contact allude to an inner energy and confidence. All of the figures in Puckett’s paintings are unapologetically sure of themselves, just like the technique he employs.

Studying under professor James Meade at the University of Southern Mississippi, Puckett received his Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Art in 2002. Puckett's paintings are visual inventions culled from a life lived in the South. He lives and works in Jackson, MS.

Ian Shults: Solo Show
September 6-28, 2025

Ian Shults' paintings forge fine art and the profane to tell sordid tales of debauchery with a sly sense of humor. His paintings recall a bygone era when the sheen of the American Dream dulled, and subversive behavior of illicit drugs and kinky benders were swept under the rug. Ian spent eight years as the Lead Illustrator and Head Sculptor at Blue Genie Art, where his ideas and vision accounted for much of the look of the various sculptures and illustrations produced at the shop.

Juan Luis Jardi: Solo Show
October 4-26, 2025

A mix of magic realism with certain influences of Pop Art and surrealism, Jardi's figures and themes illustrate the contrast in our lives and the doubts we are faced with as humans. He strives for his work to provoke feelings: nostalgia, melancholy, loneliness and a sense of uneasiness as well as feelings of euphoria and calm. Jardi's paintings offer a vintage perspective much like a trip into the past.

Juan Luís Jardí has exhibited internationally since 1983. He has received over a dozen awards for his art, including three Medals of Honor in the annual BMW Painting Prize. His art is permeated by a sense of nostalgia, rendered beautifully, realistically, and sometimes with elements of surrealism. Jardí lives and works in Barcelona, Spain.
