Jill Carver

Originally from England, Jill Carver moved to Austin, Texas in 2002. Following a twelve-year career as a curatorial research assistant at the National Portrait Gallery in London she now paints full-time. Believing that one should 'grow where you are planted', she has been fast to establish herself here, already winning recognition and awards for her work in national juried shows - a 'Jury's Top 50' and a 'Judge's Honorable Mention' award at the Greenhouse Gallery's International Salon Show, 2006 and 2007, and Best of Show at Estes Park Plein Air 2007. The Art Academy Museum of Easton, MD, purchased one of her paintings for its permanent collection last year.

Jill works predominately on location – en plein air – and this year has been selected into two of the country's premier plein air painting events, in Telluride, CO and in Easton, MD.
